Hi there – my friends call me Mick!
I’m often found writing on my bed, by the fire or on a beanbag on the balcony, usually while sipping a cheap red wine and patting my “never satisfied with how much you’ve been patting me” labrador.
My wife, Ece, and step-daughter, Asya, fill our home with love which means the two cats and aforementioned labrador all live in harmony together, just like in the movies.
I was an elite-level junior squash player and am a longtime practitioner of Wing Chun kung fu, having lived and trained in Hong Kong for six years. I also enjoy stretching my muscles into inextricable postures for peace of mind.
As well as my native Australian English, I speak conversational Turkish and Portuguese. If I had to choose between them all, silence would win the day because I’m an introvert at heart.
If I feel overwhelmed, I take THE Big Breath…
