With the release of The Matrix Resurrections, I thought it would be a good time to share a project of my deceased brother, Paul.
On 11th February, 2003, from the quiet of a granny-flat in Scone, Australia, Paul published a thesis comparing and contrasting the first Matrix film with the collective works of author, Carlos Castaneda, on the now defunct site MatrixCastaneda.com
Within his thesis, he reached out to the Wachowskis in the hope of changing the ending of the 3rd film – which hadn’t been released yet…
“Something as abstract as the contrasts between ‘The Matrix’ and sorcery has all boiled down to ego gratification: I have a half-page script alteration (not so much alteration but addition) for Matrix Part 3, so if Larry or Andy have read all this I’d appreciate hearing from you.”
I reckon there was more to his efforts than this.
He has the half-page script alteration date-sealed at our house – I will look for it when I’m back in a few weeks. Maybe it is time to open it…
Either way, I suggest you sit down with a cup of coffee, hot chocolate, whiskey or whatever is your cup of tea, read his comprehensive thesis and decide for yourself.
