I was going to name this post, “Building A Website For My Wife.”
She is sharing & selling her handmade jewelry.
But even though I’ve been the one setting it up using WordPress on the Genesis Framework with the Mai Lifestyle Child Theme (hosting with Siteground), coding and whatnot, it has been a true collaboration.
I’ve set up a few websites before but this was the first time for someone else.
Throughout the process whenever I wasn’t sure about the layout, colours, certain pages or info to include or not, anything at all, I could just ask her and she always gave a quick & definite answer.
Of course, she provided info about her work with many photos too. And we worked together to come up with a fun quiz.
Getting her immediate feedback meant we kept a minimalist feel.
Like anything, it’s more about what you don’t include. Or it’s a process of taking away, like chipping away at the Michaelangelo.
And I see her jewelry as something special. She is creative & talented. And she works hard so she’s constantly refining her skills.
What’s more, she is getting lots of positive comments & feedback on her Instagram.
I’m really happy with how the website turned out.
And we are continuing to add to it more and more.
The best part is by helping someone else I have gained a bit of focus, fulfillment and, dare I say, purpose.
