Today while walking the dog I picked up fallen twigs in the park.
There was already a stash I had compiled on our verandah, ready to be broken down into little bits for kindling.
The sun had almost set and, with no music playing, I spent about an hour breaking them all up, stick by stick, re-organizing the little mess that had self-grown.
Hands-on stuff which requires no thinking calms the mind.
Along with my run last week, this impromptu outside activity was fulfilling and encouraging.
