For the past 3 weeks, I have explored how to learn breathing techniques. Anyone can try these at home, in their own time.
I’ve covered 9 in total:
- Breathing Technique #1: The 4-7-8 Method
- Breathing Technique #2: Whistle Breath
- Breathing Technique #3: White Light
- Breathing Technique #4: 7/11’s Got It!
- Breathing Technique #5: Weighted Belly
- Breathing Technique #6: The Recapitulation Breath
- Breathing Technique #7: The Animal Breath
- Breathing Technique #8: Triangular Breathing
- Breathing Technique #9: Recovery Breath
This is in no way exhaustive. But there is plenty to play with.
I would suggest you choose one & have fun with it for a few days.
Whichever approach for how to learn breathing techniques you are playing around with, try it for 2-3 minutes then keep on with what you were doing.
One hour later, try again for 2-3 minutes.
A short burst of conscious breathing regularly throughout the day.
This is opposed to doing a BIG session once then forgetting about it all for a week or two.
Because what is the purpose of conscious breathing?
To bring our attention back to the present moment and feel good…
So we can do what we are supposed to be doing.
